Well it was a very nice Father’s Day for my husband. Both of our boys were at the beach and heading home today. I couldn’t believe it but they both called their dad before heading home and wished him Happy Father’s Day. They got their dad a gift certificate. I was very happy and somewhat surprised. Maybe some of our hard work through out the years actually paid off with our boys. Anyway they both were home and helped us do somethings at the house.
With everything going on with our younger son joining the Army, with all the tension, it was so nice for everyone to be getting along. I still think about that day when I have to say good bye to my son as he goes off on his journey to boot camp. We have some time left to spend together and I’m just focusing on that for now.
I thought about my dad today and thought I wonder what I would have gotten him or said to him on this special day. If only I had one more day to tell him how very much that I loved him. If I had one more day I would have just hugged and kissed him and thanked him for being my dad, But you see I can’t because my one more day has passed and my dad is gone. But the great thing is that if your dad is still here, you can do that. So do it…….You may still have that one more day. Don’t waste it….Embrace the days with your dad. Trust me you will be glad that you did.
So Happy Father’s Day to all. Hope you had a very special day, because you deserved it…..
